In the fashion field, if somebody asks you which fashion designers do you like best, what will you say? For my part, it is Tom Ford. I think he is a legend in the entire fashion industry. Why he is so influential as a fashion icon and what achievements he has gotten.
He once learnt art history in New York University. Then he worked for the famous American designer Cathy Hardwick. He was her assistance for two years. Getting the experience, he became the designer director for Perry Ellis. Working there for two years, he thought life in American fashion is so tiring. He said if he wanted to become a good designer, he had to move out American. He at that time thought a lot of styles are too tacky. Fortunately he got an opportunity to enter the European art fashion and hired by the Italian company Gucci. Through several years’ hard working and inventive design, Tom finally was appointed as Gucci’s creative director in1944. He definitely enjoyed an exceedingly happy and effective life. In 1999, Tom Ford even helped Gucci to escape from the situation of bankruptcy. But in 2004, for the disagreement over his contract, Tom ultimately left Gucci.
But now, he comes back and launches his sunglasses line. Tom Ford makes eyewear for men, women and unisex eyeglasses. That is really remarkable. The Tom Ford sunglasses give us a feeling of the past. They load a sense of retro. Many celebrities choose to wear then, like Angelina Jolie. Most of them are oversized but looks really cool.
